The Norwegian Training Center (NTC) is the preferred maritime and offshore simulator training partner to the global shipping community. It is the first maritime training center in the world to be certified by Det Norske Veritas. On the year 2020, NTC started to deliver their trainings and courses on an online learning platform and they have choosen Moodle LMS and us, Nephila Web as their provider.
The NTC team undergone the Moodle Training for Teachers and Site Administrators respectively so they can start using the Moodle LMS platform. With the knowledge and skills acquired from the trainings as well as additional consultancy from the Nephila Web LMS Team the NTC LMS was launched with multiple categories and courses available for their trainees. Their courses are setup using Moodle Resources and Activities, with certifications to be generated after achieving certain requirements as setup on their courses.
In addition to their fully configured courses, a system middleware for their Crew Management System (CMS) and the Moodle LMS was implemented for ease of enrolment and management of their trainees. This middleware allows communication within the two system to register trainees once and be able to monitor and pass the course completion details from LMS to their CMS. The services for NTC is still ongoing and is now on their 3rd year.
