The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) has four campuses across the Bicol Region, and they have one Moodle LMS Platform. The CBSUA Virtual Learning Portal (VLP) has a total of 23,601 registered users currently. The platform was previously hosted on their own servers and they were the one who maintains and manages it. Due to some issues experienced by their users and admins alike, they decided to consult with Nephila Web and move to migrate their VLP to our cloud server.
At the moment, CBSUA VLP (Virtual Learning Platform) is hosted on our Linode with 1000 concurrent users server specifications. Initially they wanted a fresh installation, which is what we provided, but due to some time constraints on a per course migration, they requested to do full site migration instead. The migration was successful on the newly built infrastructure and no major issues were experienced. We recommended them to upgrade their current version (3.8) to the latest version to acquire the new features and patches of the latest version, but futher assessment needs to be conducted by their internal management. We proposed a new look and feel after the migration with the installation of the Moove theme.
Their teachers and admins underwent our Moodle Trainings respectively. Additional implementation for them is the CloudFlare subscription which allows us to manage their DNS, and provide additional protection on not just the VLP but their whole domain. The support and maintenance is still ongoing.
Nephila Web is a good partner especially on catering the LMS requirement of the university and has an efficient after sales support.
