Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS) is an organization in reproductive health composed of Obstetrician-Gynecologists. They conducted their Resident’s In-Service Examination (RISE) online since the pandemic. The RISE 2021 was conducted using Moodle LMS, Safe Exam Browser (SEB) with the Nephila Team providing technical support and facilitation during the mock schedules and the actual RISE.
This is a high stake examination, and we have provided a server setup optimized to accommodate 1,108 concurrent users accessing the exams, and around 800 users of concurrent submissions at a time. This is highly server intensive, we proposed multiple mock testings to identify the proper setup we have done for them.
With the mock testings, the team was able to identify the resources that we need to improve to provide better user experience. On the second mock, there were little to no issues encountered and all of the users were able to proceed with the examinations. Even this time, additional improvements were still being configured and added.
This is the first time an organization fully utilized the use of SEB with us. There were compatibility issues experienced with SEB by some of the users but this was addressed promptly with POGS Team and Nephila Team as well, before or during the mock exams. Our support for POGS is full on, from providing best practices and instructions pre-exam, being available with their proctors on Zoom during their MOCK EXAMS and actual exam day, to providing and generation of reports post-exam. The RISE 2021 is a success with the Nephila Web’s server setup and with the use of Moodle LMS and SEB. The support and maintenance is still ongoing for them.
